摘要: This thesis examined four types of desert plants grown at the southern fringe of Taklamakan Desert based on the seasonal changes of their water potential, osmoregulation substance and antioxidant system. Results indicate that the lowest value of the predawn water potential and afternoon water potential for the four types of desert plants is in July, while the highest value is in June. Malondialdehyde (MDA) content of Alhagi Sparsifolia and accumulation of active oxygen (O2-and H2O2) ascend along with seasonal change. The peak values of MDA content and accumulation of active oxygen of Tamarix ramosissima, Karelinia caspica and Calligonum caputmedusae appear in July, July and August, respectively. The accumulation of osmoregulation substance and the change of antioxidant enzymes reactivity of the four plants take place almost simultaneously as membrane lipid peroxidation. Within four months, the activity value on average of superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD) and catalase (CAT) were ordered as follows: T. ramosissima > C. caputmedusae > A. sparsifolia > K. caspica. Such finding suggests that during the entire growing season, the accumulation of active oxygen is at its worst, while the protective enzymes of SOD, POD and CAT play key roles in the clearance of active oxygen.
